"The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich." – Proverbs 13:4
How many of us have long lists of desires? π We want more money πΈ, better jobs πΌ, successful businesses π, good health πβοΈ, a transformed body πͺ, marriage π, or children πΆ. We spend so much of our energy desiring, wishing, and dreaming, but the question God posed to me today is: What are we doing to actually move toward these things? π€
As I meditated on this scripture, the concept of diligence struck my spirit. Diligence is not just a one-time effort or occasional action. It is the consistent, steady energy β‘ required to achieve what God has placed in our hearts β€οΈ. It's that intentional movement toward the vision we hold, even when we don't see immediate results π£.
God reminded me when I was studying this to look at my own life. What are the desires I’ve been carrying, and how have I been showing diligence in those areas? Have I been disciplined with my time β°, my work π», my health π₯©, my relationships π? Or have I been passively waiting, hoping for things to just fall into place?
The truth is, desires alone will not bring the results we long for. If we want a better job, we have to be diligent in honing our skills π and applying ourselves where God leads πͺ. If we want to be healthier π₯¦, we must be diligent in our eating habits π½οΈ and physical activity ποΈβοΈ. If we desire a thriving business, we need to show up consistently and steward the ideas and opportunities God provides β¨.
Diligence is the key ποΈ to unlocking what we desire in the natural and spiritual realms. God honors those who move with purpose and consistency. The road may not always be easy π€οΈ, but when we commit to being diligent, we position ourselves for the richness God has promised π°.
So today, take a moment to reflect. What are you desiring? More importantly, what are you doing to move toward those desires? Let us not only be dreamers π but also diligent doers πβοΈ, trusting that in our steady faithfulness, God will provide the increase π±.
Stay diligent. Stay faithful. Your diligence will lead to richness. πβ¨
